The puppies are leaving, starting today.

Oh, my G-d, I'm actually crying. WTF?





Ayumi's (yellow) collar was off the other day, so I had a feeling she was the one they're keeping. Turns out I was right. And this whole thing has made me seriously consider getting another dog for Clue at some point. Only once in my life have I ever really lived with two dogs, so I never really considered how social they are.

Well, it's a moot point until I find a new home. Later. Later.

Adopting Loki for Leia was one of the best things I've done. They are so much buddies, but I can have my one on one with either of them anytime. Besides, dogs playing are so damn cute!

Clue gets verrrry jealous-- that's the only problem. As in, she'll come between me and the cats if she thinks they're getting too good of a deal.

Still...it really does bear thinking about. What kind are Loki and Leia?

Leia is a lab/pit mix--almost 9 years old. She was VERY bonded to me--to the point that sometimes it worried me. Loki is now 2 1/2 years old--he was 15 months when I adopted him. He's a husky mix--he looks just like a dingo. They had several "playdates" together before I adopted him--I thought they'd get along, since they both got along with other dogs well.
Loki never seemed to miss his previous owners--I don't think he'd ever really bonded with them. I reinforce the alpha thing--I'm first, Leia is over him--she gets fed first always, she sleeps with me (I don't trust him not to get destructive when I'm sleeping). Loki's name prior to me was Moses--he adapted well to his new name too--he doesn't even respond to that now.
