G-d,that needs to be my next fictional band name....

Anyway, for those of you who use YC scent tarts, once you put them in the burner, how long do they last? I melted one the other night, and it was great, but now the wax is liquid, and I'm not smelling much of anything. I mean, I've never used these things before. Do they really only last three or four meltings?

You're better off buying a candle warming plate. scent tarts are crappy. granted, my experience with YC in general has never been good. i think they're over-priced and crappy :(

also, thai market is like, 50% off right now at illuminations website :)

Could be you have grown accustomed to the smell too? Our sense of smell tends to ignore things we smell too much.

I thought of that, but I can barely smell it when I'm right on top of it. And I looked it up online at last, and it seems tarts only smell for about 8 to 10 hours. And I'm well past that now. Little bastard.

Amy usess tarts frequently. There is a schpiffy wee store just down the road from us that makes them by hand. They do indeed last quite a long time and for several meltings. If you like, I'll send you a few, if your address is still the same.

I get about 2 melts from them. I love tarts more then candles as I can change my scents alot more often for much less money. I'm not big on YC. I get most of mine from my friend Robyn (Chicago) off her site
www.beadedhemp.com

She's having a sale now too use the code 2008 and get 28% off until 1/2.

As a former YC employee, I think I can answer this. Yup, the tarts are only good for 3-4 tealights. As far as an electric thingy, they don't work as well as other brands because their scent is dispersed fairly quickly in the melted wax. For a "I want to smell it now" type thing, tarts are your best bet, but for the "smell it all the time" thing, go with a regular candle. The crock pot looking things work pretty well for that, but usually take about 8 hours to melt fully.

I can't remember what I did 3 days ago, but the stupid candle knowledge is stuck in my head. Yeesh!
