Ryan is agog over the newish movie, "Across The Universe.' But she admits she's never really listened to The Beatles. When I told her my favourite version of "Dear Prudence" is Siouxsie's, she said, "Who?"
Sigh. Someone's getting mixdiscs for Christmas.
(We heard a Suzanne Vega song in the car a few months ago, and she LOVED it. I explained who she was, and Ryan bought a retrospective of her work and adores it. I'm gonna try her on 10,000 Maniacs next.)

Now, granted, there are certain Beatle songs that I could cheerfully NOT listen to for the rest of my life. But many of them, even forty years later, positively scintillate.
Couple others she might like..."Love" is exquisite, it felt like I was hearing some of the songs for the first time, and believe me, there isn't a Beatles song I don't know backwards and forwards.
The Concert for George has some absolutely wonderful covers of George's music, both Beatles and solo.
My DH has 2 huge CD cases full of Beatles and solo music. If there's anything you want, just let me know, we've got it somewhere.
