So guess what I don’t have? That’s right. Net access. And guess what starts at 9.30am tomorrow? You got it, kids: Le Tour. Frustrated? Yeah, you could say that.

I’m trying something new, though: write on my laptop, then sync the document onto the Treo and upload it to my LJ. This is a test—this is only a test.

Verizon swore they’d have me up and running by now. Apparently, however, the order I put through on Monday “didn’t take.” What the hell that’s supposed to mean, I have no idea. But I’ve spoken to enough peons and supervisors at Verizon now that they pretty much figure out what I need within a few minutes of hearing my cranky-ass voice on the line. Or perhaps I’ve just lost my temper enough that fear and eye-rolling has spread throughout the company.

If you’re reading this, let me know if it comes through clearly and without extraneous junk.

Here's a few ideas... I used to work for Verizon. You won't get anything accomplished unless you call and get nasty. They're not allowed to hang up on you unless you are abusive (like screaming and cussing). So do everything short of abusive. And yes, it's true... the squeaky wheel always gets the grease around there. But you have to be persistant. And tell them you will call them every hour, on the hour, until someone fixes it. And then stick to your word. That will work, trust me. It gets the supervisors in a huge tizzy, falling all over themselves to get you to stop calling.
