In all the promotional materials I've so far seen about the Golden Compass movies, there's one thing missing: Will Parry. Lyra didn't go on her adventures alone-- she had a companion: a young man from "our" world. Other than Roger, there's no such young man listed on the cast or appearing in the trailer. What gives with that? That's an awfully large chunk of the book to erase.

Ahhhhh...welcome to Hollywood. They did that to Eragon. The book was a decent read but the movie has HUGE gaping holes and took out key characters and trivialized others.

Feh. One can hope with this movie still that the omission doesnt kill things.

Only in book 2&3 was will in our world. The Golden Compass was wholly her story of rescuing kids from the snatchers
