Well, Thursday would probably have gone better had we not both been sick as all hell. The only thing worse than trying to hack your phlegm-filled lungs up through your raw throat is having your friend do it until they cry. Fun times all 'round, oh yes.

So Thursday, all we did was go to the theatre. Yes, back to The Novello in the West End, this time for "A Midsummer Night's Dream."

Aaaand I just had to wake Amy up, because I was sure I saw something behind me out of the corner of my eye. Something white and crackling. I'm going to assume it was a floater in my eye. I am.

Anyway. "Dream" was lovely. Just lovely. Mariah Gale as Peaseblossom was just as crazy as she'd been as Ophelia, but much happier about it. The fairies were a snide, sarcastic, childlike, mischievous chorus, waving dolls in front of them as their "earthly forms." The Indian Child was a beautifully worked puppet. Titania had the most marvelous corset, and the Mechanicals were delightful. They presented the death of Thisbe with a sudden, moving pathos-- the way I saw it done in Philadelphia many years ago.

Edward Bennett was in this, as well-- and David Ajala, and almost all the rest of the company save, of course, David Tennant and Patrick Stewart. Or Penny Downie. Tom Davey-- Guildenstern-- was Lysander. And Hermia was Kathryn Drysdale. I thought she looked familiar-- and the program lists one of her TV credits as Doctor Who. Racked my brain until I finally looked it up: she was Bliss in "Love & Monsters." So she sort of worked with David Tennant before...only, not so much.

I've just realised it's 3am. I'm exhausted. I'll recap the rest tomorrow. Photos are up to date, though:
