By the way.
Jul. 8th, 2008 10:19 pmLest ye wonder, I shall indeed be blogging the Tour again. I've been glued the last few days, matter of fact. Fear not. Or...unfear not, if you're dreading it.
It's stage 4 today. Individual time trial, which is often the most exciting kind of stage. But I'm at a bit of a loss. I still want to be rooting for Floyd Landis. No Floyd. I want to be rooting for Levi Leipheimer. No Levi. Hell, no Astana, for that matter. No Tom Boonen. No Alberto Contador-- last year's winner. I'll admit it: I'm adrift.
The heart is there. The guts and the blood and the sweat and the unimaginable courage is there. But the Tour is a strange animal this year. Who are these teams? Who are these new guys?
It all remains to be seen.
