Bouncebounce

Another good weekend for me, although I stood in front of my booth on Sunday morning, looked out across the faire grounds, and counted fifteen patrons. I think we had a grand total of perhaps 60 at Finale-- by which time, of course, it was raining miserably. But I got two orders, about which I'm quite thrilled.

One of them, howe'er, is going to be quite the challenge. The young woman measures 30-22.5-29. Honest to G-d. I laced her into the smallest corset I have, and it wasn't nearly small enough. And it's a five-lacing. And she wants buckles down the front. This should be fun.

Tomorrow, I take my Aunt shopping. Wednesday, I look for apartments. Thursday and Friday I know I have something. Oh-- Friday I'm taking Shawn to get his car, poor boy. And somewhere in there, I have two corsets to finish. And fabric to bring home-- as soon as I get some payments coming in.

At the other end of th spectrum, though, an old friend sent me a photo of us from many moons ago. All I can think of when I see it is, "Oh, G-d, how much less did I weigh then?" Not a happy thought in the least. I wish food didn't argue with me so.

Some things are just too good not to share.

The full-length chiton was worn by all Greek men until the fifth century B.C. when it was abandoned in favor of a shorter version. It must have been a very dull time for transvestites.

I'm not an idiot. I swear.

I know Katrina made landfall on August 29th.

I know I've been getting a lot of emails about Katrina remembrances.

I didn't actually put two and two together and get "First Anniversary" until just now.

Sigh.

Well, Bobbie, happy birthday to the kitties!

Whimper.

How the hell am I supposed to take five inches off a pattern with nine inches of space?
