I haven't booked this yet. I'm iffy on the day trip to Scotland, though I'd love to say I'd been there, if only for a few hours. But all this? Under $2,000. Which, as [livejournal.com profile] emalia said this morning, is more money to spend on other things. Like boots.

This is all through Expedia, btw. I'm still quite open to suggestions and advice.

I was passive-agressive in a phone call, but I may have gotten across enough of a point. Not that it makes a difference.

Discussed with Emily the idea of my getting a hotel room where the reception will be, so we can all have a place to get ready. Not that I'd mind sleeping on your couch, Helen! I'm just worried about the longhairs-to-bathroom ratio.

I argued my trip with my parents, which clarified some points for me. I rebooked it, taking out the Edinburgh trip as I'd like to spend more time in Edinburgh and actually be awake for it; and the Stonehenge/Windsor/Bath trip, as I'd like to make that a full day in Bath. I wonder if I have time to reread all my Jane Austen before I go? Anyway, the cost is now $1500 and change. I still have hotel, airfare, transfers, and Les Miz.

I pulled out my old grad school textbook, and some random costume books, which proved to be exactly the ones I needed to draft the pattern for Emily's skirt. On graph paper, that is. In pure numbers. Next I determine the layout, then cut the muslin, do the mockup and fitting, and THEN take the silk out. I'm not TOUCHING that stuff til I'm SURE. I'd say more, but I'm not allowed to talk about the dress. Muhaha!

Why am I not asleep?
