Is AOL's web-based mail down for everyone?

ETA:

Yes, it's down for everyone. It's a glitch, and they're working on it. I'm annoyed that I had to do a Google News search to find it, but hey, how else were they going to tell me, y'know? I DON'T HAVE EMAIL!

The service you are trying to access is not yet ready for immortality.

Dunno...I don't use it. Suck when you can't check your e-mail though.

Oh yeah, Hi! I'm still alive :) (I know, you're disappointed, lol)

But yes. Of course. Sigh. I have no life.

You still use AOL instead of .Mac? I mean, I used to, sort of -- only for bulk mail, listservs, and the like -- and I certainly wouldn't have even done that for so long if I hadn't been grandfathered in at their $3.99/month plan.

But anyway, I've had no problems today or yesterday with webmail.aol.com - but AOL, as of a week or two ago, HAS implemented new Java-based mail controls, so just hit "reload" or "refresh" and it'll work fine. At least it's done the trick for all my clients and myself since they changed things around. AOL's software sucks so bad I don't recommend its use, but in a pinch you can use their "Connect" app to access your account without screwing up one's computer's settings too much - ftp://download.newaol.com/mac/AOLConnect.dmg . They also have an almost completely unpublicized "Assistant" app that automatically configures "Mac OS X's Mail, iChat, Address Book, and Safari to work with the AOL service."
