I'm just tired of being blamed for other people's drama, or being the focus of it. I'm sorry if not falling in obsequious genuflection at your feet enrages you, but it took me a long time to learn to stand properly. I'm glad you're not letting this get you down, hon - people who try to change you or make you see things *only* their way are not worth emotional investments of any kind. and you're too good a person!
remember the last "boyfriend" I just dealt with, along with the friend who tried putting us together (she'd helped Gina to organize my surprise b-day party)? well, in their infinite LACK of mature wisdom, they've decided that I'm suddenly not worth knowing anymore.
why? seems they're both angry that I refused to conform to his friends' herd mentality, and went so far as to call me me "a handful" and "overbearing" because I wouldn't give him money and rides when he whined for it.
I could not then and still cannot now believe how un-friend like these two were. sure, the guy hadn't had a date for over five years, and worked a dead-end job, but since when did either of these facts become my responsibility?
the last straw came after he asked me for the umpteenth time what to do with his sorry state of existance. I finally responded AS A FRIEND that he could consider getting a better job, and/or go back to school first to complete his degree. good advice, right? WRONG. no kids, I'm now a control freak and a horrible person not becoming his personal wetnurse.
like the insolent children they both are, they took their balls [if either of them really have balls is another matter, heh] and went home. good riddance too, because it seems all they wanted was to rewrite the rules so I'd be at a constant disadvantage, to the point of being their scapegoat when they can't handle life.
