Now, as you know, I rarely do text memes. I think I've done one, in fact, in all the time I've had a LiveJournal. So I thought, hey, why not? This one could be absolutely fascinating. Not just because it's mildly amusing, but because, well, I can't imagine anyone on earth would get all of these. I'm interested to see who gets what, of course. There's such a disparate group of humans on my fList-- I don't think anyone's going to manage it. I just have weird tastes. I don't know-- maybe I'm just being an egotistical snot. Some are stupid easy, some are, well, not.

I had to change one out, as even I can't make out the words. One just annoyed me so I skipped it. Two were instrumentals. But this is the first chunk of my iPod on shuffle this morning.

1. "Emotionless and cold as ice/All of the things I like"
2. "All I need is coordination/I can't imagine my destination."
3. "With a holy host of others standing ’round me/Still I’m on the dark side of the moon"
4. "She would have liked to say she loved the man/But she didn't want to lie"
5. "Just sing softly in my ear/Look at me in wonder/I will try to ease your fear/As the darkness pulls you under"
6. "There were hard times I know I survived/Just because you stayed by my side"
7. "The night we stole the moon/A pirate's paradise/The light along the ocean/was in your eyes"
8. "And we walk in the world of safe people/And at night we walk into our houses and burn"
9. "Chance is buried just below the blinding snow"
10. "Shall I call on you to guide me well/To see our hopes and dreams fulfilled?"
11. The light of day /Was never kind to you /But the darkness is worse /When the day is through
12. "Tell me are you a Christian child/And I said, 'Ma'am, I am tonight."
13. "I'm looking for this man to make us rich and famous"
14. "Don't want your hand this time/I'll save myself"
15. "My heart is on the baggage rack/It's heavy as can be/I wish that I could find someone/Who would carry it for me"
16. "The sun sets in a coffee cup/The moon throws up"
17. "Your eyes so wild/Your skin so white/You're undernourished and overfed"
18. "Merry widows in stock-gloss magazines dumbstruck open their mouths"
19. "I can't sleep cos my bed's on fire/Don't touch me I'm a real live wire"
20. "We fuss and we fight and delight in the tears that we cry until dawn"

Wait a minute-- did you look these up? That's cheating! Uh...unless you actually went through your entire collection, in which case, er...that's obsessive.

And NO ONE'S gonna get #6. Sigh. But of COURSE you'd get 19!

How DID you do this????

1. Electric Barbarella - luv that song.
4. Can't recall the title, but I know I know the song. Dammit, now that's gonna run in my head until I google it...::runs off:: Ha! Same Auld Lang Syne!
12. Walking in Memphis

...and that's all I know out of that selection. Although I'm very intrigued by the imagery of #18.

Sorry! I TRIED to (lj-cut) it, but...

...idiotically, one can't use LiveJournal's special HTML in a comment - only in a post!! So I hate to be a grinch and have all those spoilers up there, but what can I do?

Well, just avert your eyes and scroll down past it.... wait, the answers are above this comment, so if you're reading this... never mind! Okay, I've removed it. Dear reader, if you want the answers, please go to: http://www.livejournal.com/users/deathwardegg/

And I did Google #6, so I know what it is, but I didn't know it offhand, so I abstained from that one. The rest... well, what can I say? I have a somewhat compulsive personality, have hundreds of gigabytes of 1980's music available on my local server, and have a fairly good recall of things that happened twenty years ago. Of course, I can't remember that hottie's name whom I met at the party last Saturday... :-(
